Executive Coordinator & Corporate Secretary-Treasurer

Working in tandem with other ministry leads to meet the corporate agenda and fulfill the missional mandate.

Laurel has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (Management) from University of Technology, Jamaica and Bachelor’s Degree in Health Service Management from Ryerson University, a Post-Graduate Certificate in Project Management from Centennial College and is a member of the Project Management Institute. Laurel is trained in Board Governance, Occupational Health and Safety, and is certified in CPR & First-Aid.

Laurel joined Church of God in Ontario in September 2012, as Executive Coordinator & Corporate Secretary-Treasurer. In her role, Laurel is responsible for processing all transactional accounting records, payables, receivables and general ledgers. She performs all banking transactions and performs bank reconciliations, as well as provides corporate secretarial functions to the Regional Council and Administrative Bishop (Executive Director), ensuring compliance to corporate instruments.

Working in tandem with other ministry leads to meet the corporate agenda and fulfill the missional mandate, Laurel processes monthly Treasurers Reports for over 80 churches. She is active in her local church, Grace Fellowship Church of God Ministries, where she serves as an Adult Sunday School Teacher for the past 5 years.

An avid reader, Laurel has passion for evangelism, outreach and community service. She previously served on the Cadarackque Public School Community Council and as a Board Member of a local women’s shelter. Laurel has a 13 year old son, Matthew, who she considers to be her pride and joy.
