Bishop Dr. Canute B. Blake is an ordained Bishop in the Church of God, who has successfully labored in the ministry, with over 42 years of dedicated Pastoral and Administrative service to the Kingdom of God. He earned a Doctor of Religious Education D. (R. Ed.), from the European Theological Seminary; Master of Theology (Th.M.) and Bachelor of Theology (Th.B.) from the International Seminary. He has also been awarded a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.) from the Theological Seminary of California.
Bishop Blake is the Senior Pastor of the New Life Covenant Centre (formerly Malton Church of God) for the past 15 years and the District Overseer for the Brampton District of Churches (District #1). He was appointed in 1994 to the position of Superintendent of the Church of God in Canada, and Administrative Bishop of Ontario; serving simultaneously. Bishop Blake has been hailed as an innovative leader of the national church and continues to serve a multi-cultural society with grace and passion. He served for 19 years as Senior Pastor of the Ottawa Church of God from 1975-1994.
Equipped with a shepherd’s heart and an apostolic anointing, Bishop Blake has worked fervently within the Canadian Christian community to deliver a message of unity and restoration. His central ministry focus has always been to identify, develop, and release empowered men and women to become caring and spirit-lead servant-leaders in the Body of Christ, advancing the Kingdom of God. He works tirelessly to usher God’s healing and deliverance into the lives of those who are lost, hurting, and broken by sin.
As an expression of his apostolic mantle, Bishop Blake founded New Life Global Harvest Ministries, (formally, Glorious Praise Ministries), a ministry beyond the four walls of the local church, with a global outreach; committed to fulfilling the Great Commission. (Matthew 28:19-20). He hosted for five years (2002-2007) a radio broadcast that reached thousands each week with the gospel of Jesus Christ. He is also the TV host and teacher of the “New Life TV,” (formally “Invasion of Hope” telecast) for the past eight years (2007-2015) which airs nationally to millions of viewers.
In addition to his acclaimed radio and TV ministry, Bishop Blake has travelled extensively, bringing the word of God to various countries throughout the Caribbean, South America, Europe, South Africa, Uganda, Tanzania, and the United States. He has received multiple awards, including the 2013 Queen’s Jubilee Award, in recognition for his life-long service to the community and to the Body of Christ. He is the recipient of the 2014 Planet Africa Life Time Achievement Award. On November 8th 2009 Bishop Blake was certified and consecrated in the Apostolic Office. His affirmation released him to function apostolically in the Five Fold Ministry framework.
He is the loving husband of Ethel-Adams Blake, the proud father of three gifted and inspiring adult children—Nadia Goode, Colleen Blake-Miller, and Canute Dwight Blake—and the doting grandfather of seven grandsons, one granddaughter and counting.
