Lennox Walker

Administrative Bishop

“Advance the Kingdom of God by empowering God’s people to fulfill the missional mandate.”

After a near death and a life altering incident, Bishop Lennox DaCosta Walker gave his life to the Lord 38 years ago on August 25, 1976. He is a radical and unconventional speaker known in both local and international circles for preaching dynamic, life changing and inspirational sermons.

Under the tutelage of Dr. Lindsey Arscott, he was a brilliant student at Bethel Bible College in Jamaica. He has served in numerous positions in the Church of God; starting as a young Evangelist, travelling the hilly terrains of Clarendon, Jamaica. Upon graduation, Bishop Walker served as Pastor of Old Harbour and West Prospect New Testament Church of God. He also served as Assistant Pastor and Assistant Superintendent of the Redemption International Faith Ministries, 3 years with the International Office and for 2 years as Senior Pastor of East Toronto Church of God, now Grace Fellowship Church of God Ministries in Scarborough, Ontario.

Appointed Administrative Bishop for Church of God in Ontario at the 75th General Assembly of Church of God International in August 2014, Bishop Walker also serves on the Black Ministries Council for Church of God International in Cleveland, Tennessee.  Previously, he served as the Regional Alternate representative on the National Executive Council for Church of God in Canada and was a member of the National Pastor’s Advisory Council. Alongside his role as Administrative Bishop, Bishop Walker is also the Senior Pastor for Praise Cathedral Worship Centre – the largest Church of God church in Ontario, where he has been pastoring for the past eighteen years.

Awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal by the Government of Canada in 2013, Bishop Walker has a deep rooted passion for young people and the elderly. He recently travelled to the Cameroons where he awarded 50 scholarships to students unable to fund their education and was instrumental in the release of thirteen prisoners who were unable to secure their own release. On a yearly basis, Bishop Walker through Praise Cathedral Worship Centre, sponsors at least 35-40 students in various areas of study within the Greater Toronto Area. He presently sponsors one full-time student at Northern Caribbean University and another at Bethel Bible College in Jamaica.

Without a question, Bishop Walker seeks to advance the Kingdom of God by empowering God’s people through all walks of life. He has travelled extensively, positively impacting lives, ministering the Gospel at crusades and conferences, and serving others on the mission-filed in Europe, Africa, Middle East, Asia, South America, the Caribbean and various parts of the United States and Canada. Bishop Walker is temporarily relinquishing his role as District Bishop and Coordinator for the Ministerial Internship Program, to fulfill the mandate of his newly appointed role as Administrative Bishop.

A congenial leader with great compassion for others; he cries easily. He loves politics, golfing and the finer things in life. A resident of Mississauga, Ontario, Bishop Walker is married to the love of his life, Dorett, for thirty-two years. He has three sons (Damar, Shamar and Lamar) and two daughters (Shawn and Shaunyce, who is adopted). Elijah, his first grandson, is their pride and joy.

Bishop Walker, no doubt, is building a dynamic spiritual legacy that is indeed impacting the Church, education and political arenas globally.
